To the moon

Incase you were living under a rock or in mass hysteria where you can’t see amazing accomplishments for what they were…we went to the moon again. We didn’t land, that theoretically is yet to come but I’m skeptical of the timelines as NASA is apparently depending on multiple other companies for landers and suites which don’t have much published progress.

However Humans went further than ever and got some amazing photos while they were at it. I’ll admit I had my head in the sand on this one, I figured it was delayed and a decade off but when the launch was successful I was watching carefully. As the pictures started coming out I got goosebumps. I live streamed them going around the dark side with my kids who aren’t much interested but I sat in amazement as eclipse photos came out.

II figured I would share here to my non existent readers simply because it was an important moment and everyone should be taking about it. Our country has been deeply divided for personal gain from wealthy people and has a lot of issues to solve but let’s take a breather to celebrate an incredible accomplishment.

An afternoon walking around the botanical gardens in the rain

The Warbeling White eye was a joy to watch hop around the Sakura in Japan. I’d never seen a bird that wasn’t a hummingbird so into flowers.

Packwood WA is a hidden gem, I remember the hike being pleasant with a phenomenal view at the end. I hope to return one day carrying a paddleboard.

The temples of Tokyo

One joy of Japan is just walking around to look at temples. Apparently the country is estimated to have 100,000 of them. Tokyo alone you could spend weeks finding them. They’re tucked away in all sorts of places but the big ones are hard to miss and quite popular. If you’re feeling up to it you can walk up, bow twice, toss a coin, clap twice and say a prayer.

We’re lucky to live close to the cascades. It’s a magical place that I wish we spent more time at.

The 2025 Salish 100, a trip from Olympia Washington to Port Townsend. A group of 60 or so small boats under 22 ft with many unique beautiful ships all traveling together over a week staying at ports, coves and islands.
